I know this isn’t the best picture – but this beautiful beaded bird made its way onto my fridge with a lovely note from my lovely friend Esther. Such a simple beauty – a happy sparrow that brightens many days. Thanks so much Esther!
A box of yummy treats!
Everyone loves special treats – they are SPECIAL and a TREAT all wrapped into one. A few months back my husband Dan surprised me with this box of yummy treats and a feathered friend as well! We thoroughly enjoyed eating the yummy cheeses for an afternoon picnic in the lounge room. I found the bird a home in a birds nest I found on Stradbroke island. Pass on a special treat to someone in your world….
A very special island
I’m very blessed to live on the world’s largest island. One of the smaller islands not far from where I live is called Stradbroke Island. It is a very magical place to go for holidays. Earlier this year, I spent two relaxing weeks enjoying all the island had to offer: bushwalking, surf, swimming, the best gelati in the world (well on the island!), God’s natural wonders and a very slow pace of life.
I can’t wait to go back soon for another holiday!
A Festive Village
I know it is still September, but here is some more festive inspiration. Last year, my mum Sandy was inspired to make a really beautiful Christmas village. It looked beatiful at night with tea light candles reflecting through the windows and fairy lights. Is it December yet??
Mr Fish
This is our pet fish otherwise known as, “Mr Fish” or “Bert”. Although he doesn’t do much other than eat fish food and swim around all day, he brings joy to our family. As one of God’s creation, we enjoy his presence in our home and my son loves to observe all of Mr Fish’s goings on. The highlight of the day for Mr Fish is feeding time, that reminds me I must go and feed him!

More Festive Joy
I know its Christmas is still a long way off but I couldn’t resist posting about Christmas decorating! Most years my family has a Christmas decorating theme when we get together. This is a photo of my parents hutch, it was a white and red theme:)
This year we are going to spend Christmas at the beach. We are thinking of a tropical theme:) Have you got any ideas?? I’m thinking palm branches, seafood, sand, bright colors, driftwood…….
Bedtime Bag
I have been really inspired and encouraged by the book, The Creative Family by Amanda Blake-Soule.
There are so many great creative ideas for family and projects to make. I really liked the idea of a bedtime bag that holds all the bedtime equipment together:) There is a spot for a bedtime story, creams and of course pajamas and nappies. I had lots of fun making the bag! Noah loves to get his bedtime story out to read while we dress him for bed.
