Did I mention….the surf??

Angourie….the beach for pro surfers, wave watchers and some of the biggest waves I’ve seen in a long time! Stormy weather had made for HUGE albeit dangerous waves so we enjoyed watching the surf from a distance.

There is a great bush walk down the beach just the right distance for five year olds and pregnant mums!

I was happy to perch my pregnant self on a rock while Dan and the boys enjoyed a bushwalk through the sand dunes and over the rocks.

Also did I mention…. these three are the best!
Love you Dan, Noah, Byron and junior (I bet you will love watching the waves with us next time we are in Angourie!)

Love, Martine

ps. Love your mustache Dan! :)

After the storm….

We just spent a wonderful two weeks in the lovely seaside town of Yamba.

Yamba holds many happy memories for all of us and we were very excited to be able to spend two weeks enjoying its beauty. After our last holiday in Yamba, Noah has asked off and on when would we return and we finally did! The beautiful beaches, dolphins, quiet seaside village feel, great food (Beechwood Cafe is officially my FAVORITE cafe!), old time cinema, beach walks, headland climbs, kite flying and swims in the beautiful ocean all are what makes this place – a place to rest, restore and relax.

There was a bit of crazy stormy weather while we were there so when the sun was shining we hit the beach!
This particular afternoon the sun was shining bright and the weather was like a summer’s afternoon…the light shining as we made the walk down the track to the beach…..

Beautiful Convent beach….

The storm had washed in LOTS of foam and Noah was like a pig in mud! Gleefully rolling and foaming himself up in the remnants from the storm the day before.

Byron was also quite pleased with himself and was finding many rock treasures to give to me :)

and did I mention the sea eagles! We saw so many and each time they reminded me of God’s strength and how in Isaiah 40 God speaks of when we HOPE in Him…

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
But those who HOPE in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will SOAR on wings like eagles;
they will RUN and not grown weary,
they will WALK and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:29-31
