The Royal Brisbane Show – the Ekka….where dreams come true…

After patiently waiting for 12 months Noah got to finally got to go to the Ekka!
A train ride was the mode of transport to arrive at the beloved Ekka with Dan.

The army stall was a winner….as was driving a dodgem car (with a little bit of help from Dan), eating a strawberry ice-cream and getting a Lightning McQueen showbag….

…patting the very tired animals at the end of the day…

…driving a plane…

Though the toys may not last out the week from the show-bag…the memories will last and until next year – thank you Ekka for being a place with five year old dreams can come true!

There is a time for everything ….jasmine, dates, thrifting, being born….

Dan and I enjoyed a date this morning out in our local community….
The beautiful jasmine was blooming and reminded me that soon our bubs will be here!

Thank you Euro Vida we enjoyed our breakfast :)

There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven.
A time to be born, a time to heal, a time to laugh, to dance, to embrace, to mend, to love….
God has made everything beautiful in its own time…

We had a lovely little weekend getaway to Gympie and Noosa and it was nice!

A really nice shop…

A very nice man…. :)

Nice belly… (and beach!)

Nice company at happy hour….I was loving the fruit mock tail!

Nice art….the paper sculpture on the shelves of Bistro C at Noosa are my mums creations!
I scootered off (not literally) to the NICEST day spa…

Ikatan Day Spa – I was reading their literature and Ikatan is rated Top 5 Day Spa’s of Australia – I was in good hands!

The little Balinese day spa huts are set in the most beautiful tropical gardens! Nice :)

Nice date…

Seeing my lovely sister-in-law Ang perform her own cabaret show! It was a fantastic Ang!

To end the day – the best gelati ever (I know the gelati is great in Italy but this little place in Noosa is pretty nice!).

Did I mention….the surf??

Angourie….the beach for pro surfers, wave watchers and some of the biggest waves I’ve seen in a long time! Stormy weather had made for HUGE albeit dangerous waves so we enjoyed watching the surf from a distance.

There is a great bush walk down the beach just the right distance for five year olds and pregnant mums!

I was happy to perch my pregnant self on a rock while Dan and the boys enjoyed a bushwalk through the sand dunes and over the rocks.

Also did I mention…. these three are the best!
Love you Dan, Noah, Byron and junior (I bet you will love watching the waves with us next time we are in Angourie!)

Love, Martine

ps. Love your mustache Dan! :)

After the storm….

We just spent a wonderful two weeks in the lovely seaside town of Yamba.

Yamba holds many happy memories for all of us and we were very excited to be able to spend two weeks enjoying its beauty. After our last holiday in Yamba, Noah has asked off and on when would we return and we finally did! The beautiful beaches, dolphins, quiet seaside village feel, great food (Beechwood Cafe is officially my FAVORITE cafe!), old time cinema, beach walks, headland climbs, kite flying and swims in the beautiful ocean all are what makes this place – a place to rest, restore and relax.

There was a bit of crazy stormy weather while we were there so when the sun was shining we hit the beach!
This particular afternoon the sun was shining bright and the weather was like a summer’s afternoon…the light shining as we made the walk down the track to the beach…..

Beautiful Convent beach….

The storm had washed in LOTS of foam and Noah was like a pig in mud! Gleefully rolling and foaming himself up in the remnants from the storm the day before.

Byron was also quite pleased with himself and was finding many rock treasures to give to me :)

and did I mention the sea eagles! We saw so many and each time they reminded me of God’s strength and how in Isaiah 40 God speaks of when we HOPE in Him…

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.
Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall;
But those who HOPE in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will SOAR on wings like eagles;
they will RUN and not grown weary,
they will WALK and not be faint.”
Isaiah 40:29-31

The Heavens…

The Heavens truly do declare the glory of God.
For the Lord our God is mighty to save.
Our fortress.
Our resting place.
An ever present help.
Our eternal God.

For the Lord is my shepherd, I have everything I need.
He makes me like down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.

Even though I walk through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for You are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.

Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
Psalm 23

A very happy 5th Birthday!

Our not so little Noah turned five yesterday!

He has been excited for days and he was up before 5am….but waited until 6 for presents!!

Always one to dress up – Noah looks quite the part in his new fireman suit!

…’lil Masterchef in the making helping me make his birthday cake…
“But mummy I won’t watch when you decorate it!”

Byron *helping* and just checking to see if the oven really is HOT!

The birthday boys party table.

Cheezels and cheerios – what more could we want!

Pin the tail on the donkey…

Birthday cake time!

I love that when Noah saw his birthday cake he exclaimed to me, “Mummy, thank you so much for my cake. I love it so much!”

The party ended with “Super Miracle Bubbles”…

We thank God for our precious son – such a blessing to us and to others!

A little belated….

These photos are from the last few months. Its awhile since I’ve blogged, the haze of constant nausea is lifting! Yay! The photos above is Noah doing his “school” work…he insisted that the 3D glasses would help him to read :))

Enjoying some French bakery treats while feeling very sick!

Byron loving the swings…

Dan’s masterpiece…the first one in our family to master choux pastry!

beach trips…

sunsets over our backyard…

Noah’s latest dress up craze…

Byron and his scrunchy smile helping me to do some baking…

a little bush adventure…

How has your week been? A little bit of Valentines love? Dan and I enjoyed a really great lunch at a restaurant near where we live called Two Small Rooms. On the night we got engaged we celebrated with a beautiful meal there. It was really nice to go back and enjoy some fine dining! Ahh… I LOVE when someone cooks for me! :)

Our fridge blackboard is experiencing alot of love lately… Can you see our latest addition??

Yep! A little bubba growing in this tum :) I’m twelve weeks pregnant and have been experiencing the extremes of morning/all day sickness and a cocktail of hormones. I was VERY relieved yesterday to have my third scan in this pregnancy and see a strong beating heart and a very wriggley bub! After a scare a few weeks ago and the stress of not knowing what was happening with our little one, I’m one relieved mumma-to-be!

An encouraging verse I read today….

Psalm 27:8
My heart has heard you say,
“Come and talk with me”
And my heart responds,
“Lord, I am coming….”
