A whole lot of Easter!

I love the festival of Easter…I love get together with friends, family and my church community to gather together and enjoy life and Jesus’ life, death and resurrection! I enjoyed making these little birdies that adorn our kitchen table with their chirpy presence. They remind me of the new life that is found in Jesus…

On Friday our church community gathered by a local dam to remember Jesus’ death and enjoy 19 dozen hot cross buns!

We had fun making this Easter cake which was full of chocolatey gluten-free goodness!

Easter Sunday has been spent with a morning at church celebrating that Jesus is alive…He is alive indeed!

A kick back to the 80s…a retro classic!

I don’t know if you were anything like me as a child but the above birthday cake book was a favourite read for me! I would painstakingly pore over this lovely books birthday cake pictures and try and decide which one I would like! Well….after looking through this book for Noah’s birthday I realised I hadn’t actually had any of these cakes for my birthday as a child :) Not that I was birthday cake deprived at all :) but Dan and I thought why don’t we choose cakes from this book for our birthday for a bit of fun!

Hence, the birth of the delicious butterfly cake!!

Thankyou lovley chefs for making a retro classic a reality!

A splash of colour for inspiration…

In amongst the days and weeks that weave in and out of our lives I love to look for things that bring joy and beauty to the everyday. Sometimes words cannot adequately express beauty… enjoy these blooms…

… some green…

…and yellow…

Thankyou for the beautiful photos of beauty from your world dear mum!

Bon Voyage bonnie travellers!!

This past week we have had the joy of having my lovely sister Luana and her husband Mitchell staying with us before they shifted to Holland for a few years. The week was full of many special times together and Noah was loving having his auntie and uncle staying over! Above is a photo of Noah, Luana and Fred (the dog:) after Fred was given a bath!

A special farewell cake made by my sister Kim :)

…and our family all together in the one place! We love you Lu and Mitch!

Celebrations: An engagement, a dedication, a baptism and a birthday!

This weekend has been a weekend of celebration! Yesterday, a beautiful young woman from our church was baptised by her grandfather in the sea…

We celebrated with our church family Noah’s dedication. This was a really special time as our church prayed with us as we dedicated ourselves to parenting Noah in God’s ways and raising him to know Jesus for himself.
This is one of the bible verses we shared,
“Their Redeemer is strong. The Lord almighty is His name.” Jeremiah 50:24
The photo above is Dan, Noah and I with Dan’s parents…

We celebrated with a new friend who turned two in our local community and she enjoyed receiving this bunny!

And we celebrated the love of a young couple who have decided to join their lives together in marraige!
All in all it was a weekend full of celebration!

Paper memories…

The other day while pondering what to do with the 5000 photos we took when were on holidays in Europe I had the idea to make some bunting with some of the photos…

All you need is some natural twine, a stapler, scissors and print out some of your photos…
You could use photo bunting for all different occasions…birthday party decorations with photos of the birthday person, wedding reception decorations with photos of the couple….actually the uses are endless!

Here is a random photo of a little quiet corner to catch up on some reading material or to play a tune :)
