Choosing joy…

At times in life its easy to choose joy…everyone you love is healthy…the house isn’t a total mess…there may even be flowers on the table… :)
At other times it much harder to choose joy…sickness strikes your family and you are all dropping one by one…sleep seems like a nostalgic part of the past…your cranky and so is everyone else in the house…in these moments its the time to choose joy…

…to feel God’s loving care for our family through a caring friend who drops over a meal…

…to be thankful for this pumpkin eating little guy…

…to see the ‘cuteness’ for the need for this little guy to have everything just so before he goes to sleep…

…thankful for another year of life…

:)

Planning to keep embracing joy each day of life…

Love….DW 2012

Today I had the absolute TREAT to enjoy Designing Women Conference with 900ish other women!

So much love, thought, care and blessing had gone into every little detail of the day.

The speakers were amazing! They shared their story of how God’s love had changed them as they encountered His presence for themselves…

I experienced God’s love afresh and felt His smile on my life.

I had the joy of spending the day with these amazing women too (and little Jack who survived me spilling my lunch on his head :)!
I’m already looking forward to DW 2013 :)

Jumping for joy!

Simple things bring joy when your three like jumping on the trampoline, dancing like crazy to old records, picking flowers and enjoying a babycino :)

When your a bit older simple things still bring joy…like happening upon a rainbow on a dreary day, getting a card in the mail, eating good food, laughing, hearing your three year old say,”that’s fantastic!”, having a good nights sleep, feeling the sand between your toes and the hug of a good friend…

What simple things bring joy to your world?

…For the joy of the Lord is your strength….
Nehemiah 6:8

Things that are bringing me joy this week…

After a very quiet week getting over sickness and resting…and rainy, cold days…I am reminded of some things that have brought alot of of joy this week…including Noah’s relentless love of mowing! After a slight break in the rain Noah was back out in the backyard with his gumboots on to finish up a mowing job he had started!

The beautiful rainbow that graced the skies this week…reminding me that God keeps all His promises…

…my beginning attempts of more knitting…this time I am trying to knit Noah a jumper…I’m not sure what I have done but it is a teeny-tiny size :)

….this box I found at the op shop is so beautiful and has been bringing lots of joy as each little scroll of paper has a promise from the Bible on it…there are even little tweezers to pull each promise out…
Here is today’s promise:
John 14:27
Jesus…”My peace I give unto you…Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid..”
