My Help and another year older!!

Today I am celebrating another birthday!
This is the best one yet – presents from my loved ones, our family was blessed with a yummy breakfast with a lovely couple and the day is just getting started!

This year of life I want to live this Psalm every moment of the day….

Psalm 121

I lift my eyes to the mountains -
where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth!

He will not let your foot slip-
He who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, He who watches over Martine will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you-
the Lord is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm -
He will watch over your life;
the Lord will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.

My birthday song….

A gathering by the river…

Last week I enjoyed turning one year older and I celebrated by relaxing in one of my favourite spots…

…down by the river…

…with some of my favourite people…

Psalm 126 – A Harvest of Joy

When the Lord restored the fortunes of Zion, we were like those who dream.
Then our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy;
then it was said among the nations,
“The Lord has done great things for them.”

The Lord has done great things for us, and we rejoiced.

Restore our fortunes, O Lord, like the watercourses in Negeb.
May those who sow in tears reap with shouts of joy.
Those who go out weeping,
bearing seed for sowing,
shall come home with shouts of joy,
carrying their sheaves.

A kick back to the 80s…a retro classic!

I don’t know if you were anything like me as a child but the above birthday cake book was a favourite read for me! I would painstakingly pore over this lovely books birthday cake pictures and try and decide which one I would like! Well….after looking through this book for Noah’s birthday I realised I hadn’t actually had any of these cakes for my birthday as a child :) Not that I was birthday cake deprived at all :) but Dan and I thought why don’t we choose cakes from this book for our birthday for a bit of fun!

Hence, the birth of the delicious butterfly cake!!

Thankyou lovley chefs for making a retro classic a reality!

A perfect day for a birthday by the beach!

Yesterday was Dan’s 30th birthday!!! We celebrated with a small gathering by the beach and it was the most perfect day for my beach loving husband :)

There was plenty of time for surfing…

…a driftwood birthday/Christmas tree…

It was such a relaxed, fun birthday…

Happy Birthday Dan….You’re 30…Cool :)

A French country picnic….

The banners were hung to herald the milestone birthday of my sister Kim!

This weekend was my sister Kim’s (second from the right) birthday and loving all things French she celebrated with a French country picnic…

The food was delicious…there were quiche’s aplenty, terrine, french sticks, salads, pates, French cheese and wine….

…and to top it off my sister Luana baked the most amazing chocolate mud cake that had 2.5kg of chocolate in it!
