Portobello Road, London

Taking a stroll along Portobello Road and taking in the markets and enjoying the great bakeries was a highlight of my visit to London town!

…market stalls…

I really wished this little piano could have fitted into my backpack :)

A favourite shop…Appletree Boutique…if you get a chance check it out!

Celebrations: An engagement, a dedication, a baptism and a birthday!

This weekend has been a weekend of celebration! Yesterday, a beautiful young woman from our church was baptised by her grandfather in the sea…

We celebrated with our church family Noah’s dedication. This was a really special time as our church prayed with us as we dedicated ourselves to parenting Noah in God’s ways and raising him to know Jesus for himself.
This is one of the bible verses we shared,
“Their Redeemer is strong. The Lord almighty is His name.” Jeremiah 50:24
The photo above is Dan, Noah and I with Dan’s parents…

We celebrated with a new friend who turned two in our local community and she enjoyed receiving this bunny!

And we celebrated the love of a young couple who have decided to join their lives together in marraige!
All in all it was a weekend full of celebration!

The week that was….

Ahhh…its been a funny week….I was given a stash of vintage aprons from 1940s-1960s….more about them in a future post :)

…we have had encounters of the mitey type…

On Sunday night, we discovered that a pidgeon (which had been roosting on Noah airconditoning unit) had died in the extremely humid weather and the bird mites that were living on the pidgeon and in its nest needed a new host and chose us! The photo above is Dan trying to get rid of the birds nest and its deceased owner….it was hilarious!! Being bitten wasn’t that hilarious though! Thankfully bird mites can’t live on humans:)

Noah received a “big red ball” after some potty success!

….and Dan and I received a lovely bunch of flowers delivered from lovely Kaylene who just had her first book published! Well done! (Check out the link)

How has your week been?

Paper memories…

The other day while pondering what to do with the 5000 photos we took when were on holidays in Europe I had the idea to make some bunting with some of the photos…

All you need is some natural twine, a stapler, scissors and print out some of your photos…
You could use photo bunting for all different occasions…birthday party decorations with photos of the birthday person, wedding reception decorations with photos of the couple….actually the uses are endless!

Here is a random photo of a little quiet corner to catch up on some reading material or to play a tune :)

A little bit crafty…

It’s true! (Thanks Debbie for the lovely badge!)

The other Friday night I gathered with some crafty lasses and had a great night of sipping tea, chatting, being inspired and working on our various crafty projects!

…some cute birdies in progress by the talented Catherine…

…check out some more of her crafty creations at her blog, Beautiful Life

What are some of your crafty projects or ideas you have on the go?

The week that was…

Its been an eventful week (even though I set out to have a “quiet week”:)…
Noah and I made a large herd of elephants…

We spent the day at the beach…it was bliss…so great to be in the great outdoors!

A small miracle occurred on Monday afternoon… as Noah and I were dancing around:), Noah tripped and fell backwards and fell into the glass window pane (in the photo above)…the glass shattered and shards flew out in all directions…it is a miracle Noah wasn’t injured…

We also said goodbye to our beloved fighting fish “Bert Number 2″…after finding Noah staring at Bert for ages, Noah tells Dan, “Bert’s not working Daddy”. The next day after a goodbye to Bert Noah tells me, “Mummy, Bert needs new batteries.” It is going to be awhile until Bert gets new batteries…but I have good news! Bert’s replacement is going to be a cute little Crayfish!

Love

This one thing…

I am confident of this one thing…
….that nothing…absolutely nothing…
…can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord…

….and His eye really is on the sparrow…

…so that makes two things! :)

I hope your having a great day!
