Time to breathe….

I love getting out into the country where the blue skies stretch on and on…

….and you find time to breathe…stop a moment and enjoy each moment in time…

…time to watch gardens blossom and grow…

…time to reflect and open my eyes wide to all that is around me…

Psalm 63…
O God, you are my God, I seek you,
my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you,
as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary,
beholding your power and your glory.
Because your steadfast love is better than life,
my lips will praise you.
So I will bless you as long as I live;
I will lift up my hands and call on your name.

I must go down to the sea again…Part 2

…more beachcombed treasures…

….a handmade book and I can’t resist a photo:)

…a fish file…

Mum’s art exhibition is truly outstanding (I know I’m a little biased, but it really is!)…the beauty captured in the different pieces weave a story and point to the Creator of all things…who takes washed up lives on the shores of life and makes something beautiful and new….

I must go down to the sea again…Part 1

My wonderful and very talented mother Sandy has an exhibition of handmade “books” in her regions art gallery at the moment.
Yesterday, Dan, Noah and I had the pleasure of seeing her beautiful talents displayed.

The handmade “books” are many different takes on a book and reading what you may into the installations.

Mum loves to beach comb (so does Dad:) and interweaved in the pieces were findings from the many hours beachcombing along deserted beaches in Far North Queensland.

….so many treasures to uncover…

Haven…

We have shifted! Its been a big job…but now I sit in the peace of the new haven for our family…
A place where one day I hope we will have chickens….maybe not peacocks:)

Plenty of room to explore, create adventures and have fun!

Spots to plant a new vegie and herb patch…

…and a haven from the busyness of life…to seek solitude and rest for our souls…
None of the photos above are of our new house :) the photos were taken in France and Holland!
Being able to catch a few quiet moments after the change and hard work of moving I am reminded of God’s goodness to us as a family and I loving living in our new surrounds. I am thankful for this physical haven of our home and I am also reminded that true haven is found in peace with God.

Get out the boxes and the packing tape!!

We’re shifting house this Saturday!! Ahhh….its a big job packing up all the “stuff”!
I have shifted sixteen times in my life and each shift I seem to have a little more “stuff”.
When I think about it…if all the “stuff” got lost in the shift it would be okay because really Jesus knew what He was saying when He urges us to “store up treasures in Heaven where moth and rust cannot decay….”

In amongst all the packing Noah has fitted in some time to mow the grass…it is a warm day but he insisted on wearing a t-shirt and a very large 80s style button up shirt underneath his jumper with a hoodie up!

To market, to market…

Its been a weekend of wonderful markets for me! Last night I checked out the fantastic Finders Keepers markets that had so many inspiring market stalls of some very creative people and today my church community had a stall at the Redcliffe markets…
(not selling the yummy asian vegies above….but…)

…we gave away beautiful helium balloons…

…. and ran a sausage sizzle accompanied by some live music to raise money for the people of Samoa rebuilding their lives after the recent tsunami…
