Needing some rest…

This week Noah and I have both been really sick. It started out with Noah screaming for two days:( We went to the doctor on the first day of screaming but the doctor couldn’t find anything…but it probably didn’t help that Noah was screaming so much and pushing him away that he didn’t get a good look in his ears to find a middle ear infection (which was discovered on the second day of screaming by a different doctor:). Then yesterday I felt so ill, I can’t remember ever feeling so sick…but another doctor found today I have tonsillitis and strep throat:) Probably caused by the same nasty germ that caused Noah’s ear infection:( Thankfully Dan was able to come home from work and look after us both! Thank you Dan! An upside of being sick has been consuming many bowls of ice-cream and getting some extra sleep:)

In amongst the many hours and hours of Hi-5 and In the Garden DVD s I have been thinking a lot lately about wisdom…
and have been reading lots about it in the book of Proverbs.
Here are some verses that have stood out to me:

By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures…Proverbs 24:3-4
I tend to think that the “house” described in these verses are an analogy for our life…..

A person’s wisdom yields patience; it is to one’s glory to overlook an offense…Proverbs 19:11
I’m pondering and praying that I will be wise:)

No more mullet!

I really was time for Noah’s first haircut – the party at the back was getting out of hand:)

In a few quick moves the mullet disappeared and a short haired boy appeared.
Jesus says, “…even all the hairs on your head are numbered by me…” Noah’s are a few less now!

Belle Epoque

A few weeks ago my sister Nats shouted us out to dinner at a really great French restraunt called Belle Epoque. It was such a lovely experience. My sister Luana and her husband Mitch lived in France last year and Nats and her friend Chris visited – so we got to hear lots of French stories! As Dan, Noah and I are heading over there soon – it felt like we were in Paris!

There was the most amazing crepe Suzette which were cooked by your own crepe cook in front of you! I loved it!! I wished I had remembered to pull the camera out while mine were cooking – but above is a hazy photo of the experience!

Thanks so much Nats! I can’t wait to experience crepes in France :)

Passport Photos

A few days ago, Dan and I had the hilarious job of being the photographer of our very camera happy son for his passport photos. There are quite a few stipulations for a passport photo…including:

…mouth smile:(

…not eating your shirt in the photo…and being in focus helps too…

….no scowling or shadows on the face….
After much laughter and a prayer we finally got a great non-smiling, mouth closed and no shadows photo of Noah!
You are ready to fly young man!

Dreams Coming To Life!

Ever since I can remember I have always wanted to go to Europe…(particularly The Netherlands to visit where my father grew up). Dan and I have been to the travel agent many a time and for many different reasons, the timing hasn’t been right for us to venture over to Europe. But….this year Dan, Noah and I are heading over!! To visit some family…..explore and have a really fantastic time!
So, we have piles of books all over our house and there is common theme…..Europe!

Like all the dreams that we have in our heart….sometimes the timing isn’t right for them to come to fruition….and sometimes there comes a time to step out make some plans and head out into the unknown…face our fears…embrace our dreams and live…generously…beautifully and looking into the face of our Maker….
Ecclesiastes 3:1,11
There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens….
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart….

Vintage Christmas part 2

Here are some photos from our “vintage style Christmas”….a great vintage dress….Noah is wearing a vintage jumpsuit….I don’t think the jumpsuit will ever look the same after he played in the mud of the Noosa River:)

Very yummy food…..

….and all the ladies had vintage flower headbands… was truly such a special time. Everything looked so beautiful that we kept it up until sundown….then the rainbow lorrikeets moved in….
